A criminal case has been initiated against Samara environmental activist Iryna Izmailova for the illegal manufacture of explosives, Mediazona reports.
According to the FSB, in May, Izmailova made acetone peroxide at home on the instructions of a certain “curator from the SBU” named Vitaly. Parts of the substance that she was supposed to hand over to strangers to commit sabotage were allegedly found in Izmailova during the search.
According to Mediazony, which refers to the lawyer of the accused, the eco-activist admitted her guilt, but at the same time refused to enter into a pre-trial agreement. The publication also notes that Izmailova’s former roommate, Samara activist Alexander Kudashev, joined the “Russian Volunteer Corps” in the summer, which takes part in military operations against the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine.
In the materials of the criminal case initiated against Izmailova, it is said that she adheres to “radical pro-Ukrainian ideology”.
