A song by the rapper Morgenstern was associated with the case of Alexei Navalny

The lyrics of a song by the rap singer Morgenstern (Alysher Valeev) were added to the new criminal case against the politician Alexei Navalny as evidence. Navalny himself announced this on social networks. According to him, the rap should obviously prove that Navalny was allegedly preparing to overthrow the government in Russia.

Navalny said that he read the text of the song connected to the case at the court hearing. It contains the words “Navalny Lyokha – hey! Navalny Lyoha – y! Lyoha is good, Lyoha well done! Time of the young era – in my Lyoha newsletter!”. The politician wrote that this made the judge and other employees of the court laugh, but summed it up: “Let’s laugh at all the nonsense that the investigators stuffed into the volume, we’ll write out 15-20 years for me and we’ll go our separate ways.”

• Alexey Navalny is serving a 9-year term in a high-security prison on charges of fraud. He himself, Russian human rights defenders and the international community consider his persecution to be political. The “Fund to fight corruption”, created by Navalny, was declared an extremist organization in Russia and banned.
• On June 19, a new trial against Navalny began. Accusations against the politician are brought under seven articles of the Criminal Code. The most difficult of these articles is about the creation of an extremist community. Other articles are calls for extremism, the creation of an NGO that encroaches on the rights of citizens, the financing of extremism, the involvement of minors in committing dangerous acts, and the rehabilitation of Nazism.
