In Moscow, the director of the “Ard Satcom-service” company, which supplies telecommunication equipment, was detained. In his office, during the search, FSB officers found a Ukrainian drone, which the Russian military nicknamed “Baba-Yaga”. “Baza” writes about it. Information about the detection of the drone and the detention of a resident of Moscow is also reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the emergency services.

FSB officers seized the drone, and the detainee was taken for questioning.

As it turned out later, one of the former employees, who is in the war zone in Ukraine, sent the drone to the company director. He intended to disassemble and study it in order to create an analogue, but he did not have time: they came to him with a search immediately after receiving the parcel. During the interview, he said that he was interested in the communication system of a particular drone.

According to him, the drone has a built-in Starlink antenna with a module that confuses satellites and gives a false geolocation. The company “Ard Satcom Service”, which he manages, wanted to create a similar drone, writes “Baza”.

As Sergey Tovkach, the general director of the company “AviaNovatsii”, the designer of drones, told The Insider, according to the law, paperwork must be issued for the movement of any drone in Russia. “Taking into account the drone strikes, this Muscovite got hit not because they sent him Starlink, but because they sent him a drone. If they had sent him Starlink separately, no one would have touched him,” he noted.

The Ukrainian drone named “Baba Yaga” is an agricultural drone modified for combat purposes with a built-in Starlink module. Drones of this type can carry charges weighing up to 50 kilograms. But when fully loaded, they rise no higher than 30 meters and fly at a speed of no more than 40 km/h. At the same time, the drone is very noisy.

These drones are usually used for spraying fields. They are equipped with several radio channels protected from navigational interference at different frequencies. They can fly along the route according to the given program without communication with the operator.
