About black PR and non-existent business in Crimea

In recent days, a lot of black PR has appeared about me. False information is being spread that the Arricano company, of which I indirectly own a minority stake (12.5%), continues to work in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Therefore, I would like to dot the “and” to prevent the spread of further manipulation of this information.

Firstly, the Arricano company does not operate in Crimea and, accordingly, I do not own any shares of companies that do business in Crimea.

Second, the small minority stake does not allow me to influence decision-making at Arricano. Our team made every effort to agree with the majority shareholder Arricano on the exit of “Dragon Capital” from the company, albeit on unfavorable terms for us, but we have not yet received such an opportunity.

I believe that this kind of black PR is not the first time that it is a reaction to my public support for freedom of speech and a call for changes that are needed for faster Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

I am sincerely glad that no media listed as transparent and responsible, according to available ratings, has published such false information.

At the same time, the information appeared on many resources, which are known for posting “jeans”, and, unfortunately, on the state telethon. Despite my open offer to provide comments to the “Inter” TV channel through its management and through officials who, according to my information, have a direct influence on information policy, as well as after the publication of a rebuttal on our website and FB page on December 22, these accusations continued.

At the end of February 2014, during the Maidan, so that Ukrainians would not have to pay such a high price to defend democracy in Ukraine, we decided to invest in independent media, of which there were very few at that time.

This is how the magazine and the website of HB were founded. A few years later, when Viktor Medvedchuk “joined” the shareholders of 1+1 and began to buy news channels with Russian money, turning them into pro-Russian propaganda, we intensified our efforts by creating Radio NV and investing in Ukrainian Pravda.

I understand that politicians do not like it when independent media reveal information about them and those around them that they want to hide, but without this, Ukraine will not be a democratic country with a market economy and will not become a member of the EU and NATO.

Unfortunately, such an open and uncompromising position adds a lot of trouble to our business. But I have signed an owner’s non-interference agreement with the editorial policy of the media and I will not violate this agreement, regardless of the pressure that is or will be put on me.

Now we all, from us, ordinary people, to the President, have one goal – to strengthen the Ukrainian defense forces and the economy. For this we need unity not in words, but in deeds.

For 23 years of work in Ukraine, we have attracted more than 5 billion dollars to the country. investments from the world’s leading companies, and I will make every effort to ensure that all our companies continue to work successfully in Ukraine, pay hundreds of millions of taxes to the budget and support the Armed Forces – only in 2023 the amount of our voluntary contributions will exceed UAH 100 million.

I sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to work for the benefit of the economy and do even more for Ukraine next year.
