The company explained the discrepancy by the fact that the forecast was based on data for the first six months of 2022. “Western sanctions, in fact, closed the door for Russian billionaires and pushed them even more towards the Kremlin. This increases Russia’s control over their funds and supports Putin’s calls to invest in Russian business,” said Liana Semchuk, an analyst at the British consulting firm Sibylline.
The largest number of dollar millionaires left China in 2022 – 10.8 thousand. The largest influx of them was recorded in the UAE – 5.2 thousand.
