Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny was sent to a detention center for ten days – for the 26th time. This was reported by the press secretary of politician Kira Yarmysh.
According to her, Navalny was put in a detention center on February 1. In total, the politician will spend 293 days in detention.
From December 2023, Navalny is serving his term in the “Polar Wolf” special regime colony in Yamal. During this time, the oppositionist was twice placed in the SHIZO for the fact that he “misrepresented himself”. What was the reason this time is not reported.
The conditions in the cell of the penitentiary are particularly strict: the prisoner is not provided with bed linen, dating, telephone conversations, receiving parcels at will, going for walks and buying food in the store are prohibited.
In August 2023, the Moscow City Court sentenced Navalny to 19 years in prison, found him guilty of creating an extremist community, calling for extremism and financing it.
Navalny denies guilt, many human rights organizations have recognized him as a political prisoner.
