15.75 billion cubic meters of gas have already been stored in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.

Oleksiy Chernyshov, chairman of the board of Naftonaz of Ukraine, said this in an interview with lb.ua.

According to him, the company even before the heating season, which will begin soon, exceeded the gas storage plan.

“Today there are already 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas. And by winter we expect to cross the mark of 16 billion cubic meters… Such indicators are absolutely sufficient to get through the winter confidently,” Chernyshov assured.

The head of the company reminded that Naftogaz plans to supply only Ukrainian gas during the heating season. This is possible, in particular, thanks to an increase in production by 7% compared to the previous year.

The protection of the ground gas infrastructure against Russian shelling has also been strengthened by additional concrete slabs, so-called big bags, gabions, etc.

We remind you:

There was a request for gas transportation from Slovakia to Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities on October 7 and 8 four times largerthan at the beginning of October.
