Alyona Krylova, a Russian political activist, was detained in Kyrgyzstan. As Sota reports, Krylova was detained on the street in Bishkek on June 4, but it became known only now.
Krylova is a former press secretary of the Russian movement “For Human Rights”. She participated in the “Left Resistance” movement, recognized by the Russian authorities as extremist. In Russia, a criminal case has been opened against Krylova and five other members of the movement for creating an extremist community.
The essence of the extremist actions of the “Left Resistance”, in which Krylova is accused of participating, consisted in “rallies, processions and picketing aimed at discrediting the authorities and provoking clashes with the police.”
Alyona Krylova was detained for the purpose of extradition to Russia. At the moment, it is not known whether it is still in Kyrgyzstan or has already been handed over to the Russian side.
This is already the third case of detention of Russian political emigrants in Kyrgyzstan since June. On June 6, it became known about the extradition of anti-war activist Alexei Rozhkov, accused of setting fire to the military enlistment office. Lev Skoryakin, an activist of the “Left Bloc” movement, was detained in Bishkek on June 9.
