From March 30 to April 5, the 11th Austrian Film Week was held with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria and the general partner – the Austrian chain of gas stations.

The Austrian Film Week has been held annually in Ukraine for more than 10 years. The only exception was 2022 due to the full-scale invasion of Russia. However, the decision to return the cultural event to the lives of the capital’s residents was made thanks to the incredible ability of art to give viewers positive impressions, hope and faith in the Victory of our country.

“Ukrainians are freedom fighters who amaze the whole world with their courage and hard work. The Republic of Austria and its people support Ukraine’s aspiration to defend European values in this unjust war unleashed by Russia. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and resolutely stand side by side with it. In the same way, Austrian culture should support the will of Ukrainians to live a normal life despite these difficult times. We hope that the restoration of the Austrian Film Week will become a worthy symbol of support for Ukrainian indomitability.”– says Dr. Arad Benkö, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine.

For more than a year, Ukrainians have surprised the whole world with their heroism, indomitability and endurance – both at the front and in the rear. Soldiers, volunteers, entrepreneurs and civil servants, old and young, each in his place demonstrates indescribable optimism, faith in his own strength and desire to live, setting an example of courage to the whole world.

Ukrainians rallied and united the international community, which plays an important role in maintaining incredible resilience. Representatives of partner countries visit Kyiv not every day, and despite the war, international companies continue to do business in Ukraine, supporting the economy of our country, which is suffering from the war.

One such company is the Austrian gas station chain AMIC ENERGY. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, the company supports the Armed Forces and volunteers, launches social projects aimed at restoring territories liberated from the enemy.

And as a sign of support and respect for the indomitable Ukrainian people, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria and the general partner – AMIC ENERGY managed to restore the Week of Austrian Cinema, which every year introduced Ukrainians to the most vivid and iconic films of Austria.
