In addition to ensuring patient access to treatment and medical care, Novo Nordisk provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine and its medical system. In general, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the amount of aid has already reached more than 900 million hryvnias.
In particular, the company allocated more than UAH 182 million for critical equipment for infrastructure and humanitarian needs in the Mykolaiv region – the funds will be directed both for targeted assistance to victims of the war and for the needs of the city and region.

More than 47 million hryvnias were allocated to the purchase of blood transfusion stations, namely the purchase of modern equipment, in particular, centrifuges, platforms for whole blood, ELISA robots, machines for donor apheresis, X-ray blood irradiators and automatic blood separators.
During the energy crisis, the company handed over 34 generators for hospitals and polyclinics to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. These projects became possible thanks to the partnership of Novo Nordisk with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the Danish Refugee Council and the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine.

In addition, together with the municipality of Copenhagen, Novo Nordisk purchased and handed over 19 ambulances to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. They are equipped with everything necessary for rescuing people: evacuation chairs, first aid bags, stretchers, mobile aspiration devices, automatic external defibrillators, refrigerators, heaters and other necessary means.
“19 emergency medical vehicles have already gone to different regions of Ukraine to help medics save people. And we are glad to be involved in this, because each vehicle is not one saved life,” adds the CEO of Novo Nordisk Ukraine.

Its goal is to raise people’s awareness of diabetes and obesity among residents of large cities, to help reduce the prevalence of these diseases, and to encourage timely diagnosis.
