A new season of sugar production has started at Astarta processing enterprises. On September 12, the sugar factory in Vinnytsia started processing sugar beets.

At the end of this week, the plant in Poltava region will be launched, and in the third decade and at the beginning of October three more In total, in the current season, raw materials will be processed by five sugar factories of the agro-industrial holding.

“Teams and processing enterprises are fully ready for work. In addition to capital repairs, we are implementing a number of investment projects aimed at improving the quality of sugar and increasing production productivity. – says Yevhen Sadovy, director from the processing of agricultural products of Astarta. –

We are also constantly studying opportunities and best practices to increase the energy independence of our enterprises to ensure the continuity of production and processing processes.

Last year, we replaced the pulp drying scheme from gas to pellets of plant origin, purchased additional generators and increased biogas production at our own bioenergy complex.

This year, we are completing the process of converting three boilers to alternative fuels. In addition, these measures contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the consumption of fossil energy sources.”

Meanwhile, the agrarian enterprises of the agro-industrial holding, which provide a significant part of the raw materials for the Astarta sugar factories, continue harvesting sugar beets, the total area of ​​which this year is 39,000 hectares.

The company also actively cooperates with third-party agricultural producers, expanding the scope of cooperation from year to year.

“Taking into account all factors, we plan to increase the volume of processing and expand the geography of exports to European markets,” Yevhen Sadovy added.
