We are also constantly studying opportunities and best practices to increase the energy independence of our enterprises to ensure the continuity of production and processing processes.
Last year, we replaced the pulp drying scheme from gas to pellets of plant origin, purchased additional generators and increased biogas production at our own bioenergy complex.
This year, we are completing the process of converting three boilers to alternative fuels. In addition, these measures contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the consumption of fossil energy sources.”
Meanwhile, the agrarian enterprises of the agro-industrial holding, which provide a significant part of the raw materials for the Astarta sugar factories, continue harvesting sugar beets, the total area of which this year is 39,000 hectares.
The company also actively cooperates with third-party agricultural producers, expanding the scope of cooperation from year to year.
“Taking into account all factors, we plan to increase the volume of processing and expand the geography of exports to European markets,” – Yevhen Sadovy added.
