At least two thousand “Wagner” mercenaries arrived in the Mogilev region

At least two thousand mercenaries of PMC “Wagner” arrived on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Such figures are provided by the “Belarusian Gayun” monitoring project, which conducts calculations based on open data.

The investigators note that only on July 18 they managed to record the arrival of two convoys, in which there were 170–185 cars, including those with self-proclaimed “LPR” and “DPR” license plates or without license plates.

According to ASTRA, from July 14 to 16, military convoys of PMC “Wagner” traveled through the territories of the Oryol and Bryansk regions, accompanied by DPS patrol cars.

The columns include pickup trucks, cars and trucks, as well as buses and minibuses. No incidents were reported.

Earlier, the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty, based on the analysis of satellite images, reported on the construction of a tent camp on the territory of an abandoned military unit near Osipovychy, near the village of Cel. Journalists counted more than 300 field tents, each of which can accommodate from 20 to 50 people.

In one of its messages last week, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense noted that PMC mercenaries conduct training with territorial defense servicemen.

• The relocation of PMC “Wagner” to Belarusian territory was part of the agreement that put an end to the mutiny demanded by the mercenaries in June, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin has not appeared in public since June 24.
• In a recent conversation with “Kommersant”, the President of Russia said that legally PMC “Wagner” does not exist. At the same time, shortly after Prigozhin’s rebellion, Putin declared that the state fully financed the group, paying 86 billion rubles an hour.
• The regime of the Belarusian authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko is considered one of the main allies of Russia, which is waging a war against Ukraine. Lukashenko did not send troops to war with Ukraine, but allowed Moscow to use the country’s territory to launch a full-scale invasion. Minsk also allowed to place Russian nuclear weapons in the country.
