ATB joined in supporting services for victims of domestic violence

The “ATB-Market” chain of stores joined the “Cities and communities free from domestic violence” initiative, implemented by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine.

Its main goal is the development of municipal systems for preventing and countering domestic and gender-based violence. Therefore, mobile teams were created, specialists were involved in day centers and special crisis rooms were opened for the most vulnerable categories of people: women in situations of domestic violence, internally displaced persons, elderly people, teenagers in difficult life circumstances. Anyone who needs social assistance can contact the services.

In order to support its customers and to tell about the free assistance services for victims of domestic violence, ATB stores placed posters with an appeal not to tolerate domestic violence and shared useful contacts where it is better to turn in crisis situations.

The project “Cities and communities free from domestic violence” is implemented in 45 cities and communities throughout Ukraine, covering both large urban centers and small regional towns.

From the beginning of 2021:

  • 29,000 people received support from mobile brigades.
  • 13,300 people benefited from the help of specialists in day care centers.
  • 1,050 people received help in crisis rooms.
  • More than 900 people found shelter in shelters.
