Bishkek, Astana and Moscow will start exchanging personal data of citizens

Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia signed an agreement on the exchange of personal information of citizens. This was reported by the Kyrgyz service of Radio Liberty — Radio Azattyk.
Within the framework of the agreement, data exchange will be carried out, in particular, on the availability of citizenship, the availability of documents giving the right to permanent residence in the country, registration on the migration register, and crimes committed.
The three countries signed the agreement on December 18, 2020.
Both Kazakhstan and Russia have completed the ratification process. The agreement will enter into force after the completion of all domestic procedures on the part of Bishkek.
After the start of Russia’s war with Ukraine, many Russians decided to emigrate. Among others, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan accepted immigrants from Russia.
Since the beginning of June, a facial recognition system has been operational in Kyrgyzstan, with the help of which it is planned to detect those who are interstate wanted in the CIS countries. According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs, Russia has transferred information about 85 thousand people declared in the Search.
At the beginning of the month, it became known about the detention of several anti-war activists from Russia in Kyrgyzstan. One of them, Alexey Rozhkov, accused of setting fire to the military enlistment office in Yekaterinburg, was extradited. He is in a pre-trial detention center.
