A criminal case was opened against the blogger Nekoglai (Nikolay Lebedev) based on an article about defamation of the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina. She herself informed TASS about this.
Myzulyna said that she was released for questioning as a victim. She explained that the case was initiated “in connection with the spread of outright lies and slander” about her activities and the work of the League, as well as death threats against her.
Myzulyna stated that the purpose of the threats and fakes was an attempt to put pressure on her “as a public figure” in connection with her “position on the fact of discrediting the Russian armed forces.”
Commenting on the news, Nekoglai said that in the pre-trial detention center, people came to him every other day who “tried to file a criminal case against him”, but they did not have enough time.
In November 2022, Nekoglai, who has more than ten million followers on Tiktok, filmed a video parodying a Russian soldier in a trench throwing grenades from a drone.
Myzulyna wrote a report on him to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. She called the blogger a “freak” and called for a criminal case to be opened against him on the article about the discrediting of the Russian army.
Nekoglai’s manager stated that the blogger did not want to offend or humiliate the military with his parody, referring to the translation of the song that was superimposed on the video. In tiktok, they held an action in support of Nekoglai.
The next day after Mizulyna’s report about the denunciation, the blogger was detained, accused of violating the migration record and after the trial was deported to Moldova. During the meeting, Nekoglai, shaved bald and with bruises on his face, apologized and asked to be deported as soon as possible.
In his first post-deportation video, the blogger said that in the Moscow police department they tried to rape him with a liter bottle of soda.
