According to the publication, the annual revenue of the largest crypto exchange exceeds $12 billion.

Journalists recalled that Zhao got acquainted with the digital currency thanks to entrepreneur Bobba Li while playing poker in Shanghai. Before the creation of Binance, the businessman worked at Bloomberg Tradebook, and later joined the Fusion Systems platform specializing in trading systems.

Cryptojournalist Colin Wu believes that the data may not be reliable, since the exchange does not publish its financial indicators and the fate of Zhao.

Zhao himself denied Bloomberg’s information on Twitter. He said that all the numbers are wrong and that he doesn’t even have that much money.

4 Numbers all wrong. I don’t have anywhere near as much. Don’t know why they do this. 🤷‍♂️ Also, never viewed FTX as a rival. We welcome more (well run) exchanges in the space. pic.twitter.com/xfa31RZp7t
