The Dutch brewing company Heineken sold its Russian business to Arnest Group for one euro. RBC writes about it.
“All remaining assets, including seven breweries in Russia, will be transferred to new owners,” Heineken said. The Russian company Arnest produces “Prelest” hairspray, “Dichlorphos” repellents, air fresheners, deodorants and shoe cream.
Arnest promised to keep the jobs of 1.8 thousand Heineken employees for three years. The company also undertook to pay off one hundred million euros of debt remaining with the Dutch manufacturer in Russia.
Since March 2022, in response to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Heineken has stopped producing and selling beer in Russia under its own brand, including the brands “Three Bears”, “Bochkarev” and “Zhigulyovskoe”. The company announced that within six months of the sale of its business in Russia, it will completely leave the Russian market and will not return to the country.
