Changes in trade: the EU and Britain agreed on the rules of VAT and excise cooperation

The first details about cooperation between Great Britain and the European Union became known. They concern the Northern Irish trade rules, reports “Evening News” with a link to Sky News.

According to known details, trading rules include:

“Green” and “Red” strips of trade routes. In response to bureaucratic problems at customs controls, the European Union will send its goods through the “red” zone, and Britain will use the “green” one.

Changes will be made to VAT and excise duties in Northern Ireland.

Medicines that are approved by Britain will immediately be available in the range of approved products throughout Northern Ireland.

A new brake will also be introduced for Stormont. He will be called to ensure that Northern Ireland retains its sovereignty. Britain will receive the right of veto when the “brake” is removed.

Let us remind you that Ukraine is also actively trading with Europe. In 2022, trade with the EU accounted for more than 63% of Ukraine’s exports.
