What do they want to change?
They want to divide chicken eggs into two classes: “A” and “B”. Class “A” eggs must be clean, the shell must be clean and undamaged, the yolk must be slow-moving, without clear contours. There should be no extraneous odors, etc.
At the same time, class “A” eggs will also be divided by weight:
- “XL” (“very large”): eggs weighing 73 g or more;
- “L” (“larger”): eggs weighing 63 g or more, but less than 73 g;
- “M” (“medium”): eggs weighing 53 g or more, but less than 63 g;
- “S” (“small”): eggs weighing less than 53 g.
“The document provides for: sorting of eggs according to their quality and weight; stamping of eggs, marking of packages (containers) and transport containers for eggs,” says the publication.
The document was developed taking into account the recommendations and directives of the EU. At the same time, eggs of class “B” are all that do not correspond to the quality of class “B”.
