Finnish companies connected with Moscow supplied it with equipment and equipment used by the military-industrial complex. Sales increased significantly with the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Journalists of the Finnish broadcaster Yle came to this conclusion.
We are talking, in particular, about electronic sensors, frequency synthesizers, diesel engines, transmission parts, fuel pumps, optical devices and voltmeters, bearings; video cameras, electronic boards and hard drives. All this is prohibited to be imported into Russia by international sanctions.
Part of the similar equipment was used in Russian military equipment, which is used in Ukraine. The part may be used in military research or development, the material notes.
The authors of the study do not name the companies and their owners. It is known that we are talking about small companies working near the border with Russia. They are managed or owned by Russian citizens. The companies that agreed to talk to journalists deny violating sanctions.
Some of the interlocutors noted that they do not have the opportunity to check the biography of buyers and note the difficulty of complying with the colossal list of restrictions introduced due to the war in Ukraine.
At least two companies could know about their clients, the material claims. The systematicity is indicated by the fact that one company opened branches in several countries after the start of the war, which it used to deliver goods to Russia. At least four companies discovered by journalists are under criminal investigation.
