half of Russia’s enterprises mobilized up to 3% of employees

Almost half of the surveyed Russian companies have lost 1-3% of their employees and are forced to bear additional costs due to the mobilization of Russians for the war in Ukraine. This follows from a survey of more than 200 enterprises of medium and large businesses from different regions of Russia, the results of which are reported by Kommersant.

57% of companies reported that they help mobilized employees financially, 43% – buy things and equipment for them, 30% – provide legal support, and 13% – psychologically. More than a third of the companies promise to provide psychological and medical assistance to those returning from the war.

Only 13% of enterprises stated that they do not have programs to help the mobilized. At the same time, 40% of companies claim that they financially help the families of those who went to fight in Ukraine.

In monetary terms, 21% of respondents said that they spent more than five million rubles to support the mobilized and their families, the rest allocated less.

With the beginning of mobilization, information began to arrive from different regions that the mobilized were forced to gather themselves for war. They do not have enough equipment, they are asked to buy protective equipment and first-aid kits on their own. In some cases, their relatives take out loans and microloans for this.

Experts have repeatedly noted that the material and technical base of the Russian armed forces was poorly prepared for mobilization – in particular, there is no proper level of training of the mobilized. This is confirmed by those who have already been to the war in Ukraine.

After the announcement of mobilization, hundreds of thousands of Russians left Russia. Another 300,000 were mobilized “according to plan” by the end of October. The outflow of Russians has created a shortage of specialists, among other things, in the production sphere – this was stated by 45% of the surveyed employers.
