A court in Kazan arrested blogger Haoyan Xu for seven days and ordered him to be deported from Russia. A Chinese citizen was accused of LGBT propaganda in YouTube videos.
The court found 19 videos in which Xu and his partner Gela Gohyshvili “touch each other on different parts of the body, including the genitals.” In addition, the court decided that Xu in this way “spread the desire to change gender among minors”, “Sota” reports.
According to Gohyshvila, the session was closed because of the audience, and his ego was “let go with a scandal.” Later, he reported that the Chinese citizens who came to support Xu were detained by the migration service: some of them had expired registration in Russia, according to the correspondence published by him.
Yesterday, April 5, Xu and Gohyshvili were detained by the police for complaining about videos that bloggers publish on YouTube. In them, they talk about their life as LGBT couples in Russia. Xu was left at the police station for the night, and the Gohyshvilis were released with an obligation to appear.
The bloggers run the Telegram channel “Kitaeza and Grueza” and publish videos about their relationships on Tiktok and YouTube. Recently, they told Radio Svoboda that homophobes began to persecute them and threatened them with reprisals. According to Gohyshvyla, the harassment was organized by “Orthodox activist” Timur Bulatov, known for his denunciations. After that, they started writing to bloggers that they would be killed, executed and castrated.
The pursuers also complained to the police – as a result, the bloggers were repeatedly called by criminal investigation officers, demanding to appear at the police station and pay a fine.
- Since December 2022, the dissemination of positive information about homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism has been prohibited in Russia. Fines of up to 400,000 rubles for citizens and up to five million rubles for organizations are provided for this.
