Korean companies LG Energy and Hyundai Motor will jointly build a plant for the production of batteries for electric cars in the USA. The company is investing $4.3 billion in the project, Reuters reports.

Each of the companies will own a 50% stake in the joint venture, which will begin construction of a new plant in the second half of 2023.
The new production complex will be located in the state of Georgia, where Hyundai is also building its first plant in the United States for the production of environmentally friendly cars.

It is expected that the factory for the production of accumulators will start working no earlier than 2025. After starting production at full capacity, it will be able to produce batteries with a total capacity of 30 GWh annually, which is enough to ensure the production of 300,000 electric cars.
