Politician Ilya Yashin, who is in a correctional colony on charges of spreading so-called fakes about the Russian army, was transferred to a barrack with strict conditions of detention. This happened immediately after Yashin spent five days in a penal detention center (SHIZO). The fine was imposed on him when he refused to participate in the construction of new barracks, asking to replace it with another job.

About Yashin’s transfer to strict detention conditions, his lawyer Mikhail Biryukov reported. He clarified that Yashin is isolated from the main mass of prisoners and is being held together with four “malicious violators of the regime”. Also, he is limited in the right to call relatives, the number of his dates and transmissions is reduced.

At the same time, the colony administration revoked the order appointing Yashin to the camp construction team, because of his refusal to work in it, he was sent to the SHIZO.

  • Ilya Yashin was arrested in July 2022 and sentenced to eight and a half years in a penal colony under the article about the so-called fakes about the Russian army. Shortly after his arrest, he was entered into the register of “foreign agents” by the Ministry of Justice of Russia.
