In Barnaul, hundreds of residents came out to a rally against the increase in housing and communal services tariffs

In Barnaul – the administrative center of the Altai Territory – residents held a rally on Sunday against the increase in housing and communal services tariffs. According to Maria Prusakova, a member of the State Duma from the CPRF, more than 600 people took part in the rally. The mayor’s office did not approve the action in the place proposed by the organizers, so it was held in the so-called Hyde Park.

The rally lasted about an hour. The police counted about 270 participants, Altapress reported.

At the meeting, the participants unanimously adopted a resolution in which they demanded to establish tariffs that do not exceed the 9% indexation recommended by the Russian government. They also demand control over the prices of coal and firewood, abandon the practice of raising tariffs more than once an hour, leave the heads of regions the right to raise tariffs above the recommended level. The resolution of the rally was adopted unanimously, about 400 signatures were collected under it, reports Sibir.Realii.

In Barnaul, prices for housing and communal services were raised by 14.7%. On February 11, a rally against the increase in tariffs was held in Bysk, on the 5th – in Rubtsovsk.

On Sunday, residents of Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Republic of Karelia, came to a protest rally against the increase in housing and communal services tariffs. It was organized by deputies of the State Duma from the CPRF, who had previously launched a campaign against the increase in utility tariffs, reports the telegram channel From Karelia with freedom. According to the Telegram channel, after the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, this is the first protest in Petrozavodsk that was not dispersed by the police.

The rally took place in the city’s Hyde Park at the mouth of the Lososinka River, about 80 people attended it, writes Sever.Realii. Those gathered demanded the resignation of the Karelia government. “Sirena” indicates that the growth of tariffs in the region is up to 55%.

However, last year in July the tariff increased by 4%, and the government of R decided to once again index the tariff for communal services on December 1, 2022 – instead of July 1, 2023.
