In Kaliningrad, the person convicted under the “Dadinsky” article was sent to the SHIZO

Vadym Khairullin, who was convicted under the so-called “Dadinsky” article (about repeatedly violating the rules of holding a rally), was sent to a penal institution for refusing to submit DNA for the database of prisoners. This was reported to the Sever.Realiya website correspondent by lawyer Maria Bonzler.

“They started taking blood from everyone there for DNA analysis, Vadim refused, for this he was sent to the SHIZO until the end of his term. He has two weeks left to serve his sentence – on June 22 he must leave the colony. According to the law, he had the right to refuse to take the test – “No one can do anything without written consent. But they needed it for some reason,” said the lawyer.

Khairullin is serving his sentence in colony No. 8 in Kaliningrad, and since February 2023 he has been in a penal institution for the second time. Also, in February and March, he was twice transferred to a cell-type facility for eight days. The first time was due to a fight with the second convict, the second time was due to the fact that he did not greet the employee of the colony in accordance with his uniform.

On February 20, the court refused Khairullin parole. The psychologist of the colony wrote in his description that Khairullin had “no positive dynamics” during his imprisonment. According to Maria Bonzler, the psychologist did not personally meet Khairullin.

Vadim Khairullin is a well-known Kaliningrad activist, he provided free legal assistance to those detained on political charges.

On August 8, 2022, the activist was sentenced to one hour in prison for repeatedly violating the rules of holding rallies. The basis of the criminal case was Khairullin’s participation in a single picket with the poster “For your and our freedom!”, as well as his participation in three rallies in 2021 in support of politician Alexei Navalny (after the rally on January 31, Khairullin was arrested for several days for allegedly organizing an action ). During the consideration of the criminal case, the activist was also accused of organizing the rally on April 21, 2021, although, according to the lawyer, the prosecution failed to prove this.

After the accusation, Khairullin spent several months in pre-trial detention center No. 3 in the village of Kolosovka, and at the end of December he was transferred to correctional colony No. 8 in Kaliningrad. In September, the human rights project “Support of Political Prisoners. Memorial” recognized Khairullin as a political prisoner.

• The “Dadinskaya” article received its unofficial name after the activist Ildar Dadin, the first person sentenced to three years in prison for it in 2015. Subsequently, a few more people received real terms of imprisonment.
