In the Klimovsk microdistrict in Podolsk near Moscow on January 8, on the fifth day after the accident at the boiler house, it was possible to restore heat supply to less than half of the houses – in 81 apartment buildings out of 174. This was reported in the press service of the Moscow region Emergency Management Department. All this time there are severe frosts in the Moscow region.

On the third day after the state of emergency, the authorities imposed a local state of emergency in Podolsk. Six temporary accommodation points have also been deployed for the residents of Klimovsk. The authorities of the Moscow region assigned responsibility for the accident to the owners of the boiler house. It belongs to the Klimovsk Specialized Cartridge Plant (KSPZ) named after Yuriy Andropov. Regional authorities claim that they did not know about the accident for more than a day and learned about it only from reports from residents.

The Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region opened a criminal case the day before on the fact of turning off the heating in Podolsk.

In the report of the Investigative Committee, it is indicated that the shutdown occurred due to a rupture of the heating lines. The breakthrough itself, the document says, happened “as a result of improper operation of the boiler room by the employees of the closed joint-stock company.”

On Monday, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, said that the authorities would take over the boiler house. A special regime related to the fact that the cartridge plant is a military industrial complex was also removed from the facility. Also, according to Vorobyov, residents of the Klimovsk microdistrict will be recalculated communal payments. In January, they will not have to pay for heating, and for electricity they will pay amounts equivalent to the December payments.

Problems with heat supply after the New Year arose not only in Klimovsk, but also in other cities and districts of the Moscow region. At the same time, as noted by “Agentstvo”, the head of the Moscow Region, Andrey Vorobyov, did not appear in public from December 29 to January 6, probably because he was on New Year’s vacation. Comments were disabled in the governor’s Telegram channel. Before that, subscribers left several hundred complaints about heating there.

In particular, residents of Balashikha have been reporting problems with heating since January 2. On January 5, it was reported that there was no heat in some houses in the Solnechnogorsk district, in Khimki and Lyubertsy.
