On December 20, the Degtyarivsky overpass was opened to traffic in Kyiv – for the passage of motor vehicles and trams on updated tracks.

According to Klitschko, now it is actually a newly constructed object.

The overpass was built in 1963. Since then, it has not been thoroughly renovated, the object was in a state of disrepair.

The bridge workers dismantled the structures of the building, the foundation and replaced them with new ones with improved characteristics.

The new overpass is 1 m higher than the previous one. The width of the building has increased from 28 m to 40 m. The length of the overpass is 36 m instead of 33 m.

The improved parameters will increase the throughput capacity to 45,000 cars per day.

Also, on the new overpass, the tram line was preserved, on which the rails were completely renewed, and the monolithic slabs of the canvas were strengthened.

Open traffic and entry and exit from the new overpass.

The entire complex of works, namely, the installation of the upper layer of asphalt and the improvement of the territory near the exits and entrances, will be completed next spring. Bicycle paths and sidewalks will also be arranged.
