In Novosibirsk, there was a second major communal accident in a week. In the Leninsky district of the city, an underground pipe burst on Petropavlovskaya Street. This was reported by the Siberian Express Telegram channel.

As “NGS” reports, two people received thermal burns due to water leaking onto the street. They turned to the regional hospital for help: one victim was hospitalized.

The City Hall of Novosibirsk reported that due to a breakthrough, there will be no full heating in the Gorsky, Trolleyny, Yugo-Zapadny and Stanislavsky microdistricts, as well as in the Telecentra district and parts of the Kirovsky district – they were without heating for several days due to a rupture of a communal pipe on the street Parkhomenko last week.

The Siberian Generating Company (SGC), which maintains underground communications in Novosibirsk, clarified that the damaged pipeline was laid in 1963. The last time it was repaired was in 1990.

The governor of the Novosibirsk region, Andrey Travnikov, called the new accident “a consequence of the recent one.” Anton Kartavyn, an independent deputy of the city council, demanded in his Telegram channel that the head of the Novosibirsk region introduce a state of heightened alertness and suggested that affected citizens contact the prosecutor’s office because of the heating shutdown.

  • As Sibir.Realii drew attention, Petropavlovskaya street, where the accident occurred, is included in the electoral district of the vice-speaker of the city council, Mykola Tyamin (“United Russia”). Tyamin took part in the process of revoking the mandates of the emigrating independent deputies of the city council Helga Pirogova and Sergey Boyko – he heads the anti-corruption commission, which found violations of the law in their declarations.
