In Omsk, the FSB calls on those who left for mobilization

In the Omsk region, FSB officers began calling in “surveys” of residents of the region who left Russia during the mobilization and then returned. This is reported by “Vazhney istorii” with reference to several people who received calls from the FSB and an employee of the special service.

As one of the interlocutors of the publication said, he flew out of Russia on September 21 – the day when the mobilization was announced. It was a planned vacation to one of the countries of the Middle East. A resident of the Omsk region decided not to return from there, since he is fit for military service without restrictions, graduated from the military department and has the rank of reserve lieutenant. Later, the Russian moved to one of the CIS countries, and returned to Russia a month ago.

The FSB officer who called said that he needed to question a resident of the region about why he “recently traveled abroad.” Several other residents of the region received similar calls. None of them agreed to join the FSB.

“Vazhnye istorii” called the FSB office, where an employee confirmed that he had called people and said that it was an “ordinary interview”.

Human rights activists told the publication that this practice is not yet widespread.

In the fall of 2022, when the so-called partial mobilization was announced in Russia, from several hundred thousand to one million people left the country within a few weeks.
