In one hour, the number of air accidents in Russia tripled

Since the beginning of this year, more than 180 incidents related to malfunctions and breakdowns of aircraft of domestic airlines have been registered in Russia. This is exactly three times more than for the whole of 2022.
According to the calculations of Newsweek journalists, the situation continues to deteriorate rapidly: if there were 12 breakdowns in Russian planes during the whole of November of this year, then from December 1 to 11 there were already 14 of them.
Experts emphasize that this is due to the lack of quality on-board service due to the sanctions imposed on the Russian aviation industry – in particular, the ban on technical inspections and repairs by certified technicians.
As a result, Russian companies independently repair their planes, often involving unqualified workers, and in addition, they engage in so-called “aviation cannibalism”, that is, they disassemble one board for spare parts to service others.
