On September 1 and 2, FSB officers in Samara detained at least three people associated with activist Alexander Kudashev, who joined the so-called Russian volunteer corps fighting on the side of Ukraine in June of this year. This is reported by Idel.Realii.
The artist Iryna Izmailova was the first to be detained — she has been in a relationship with Kudashev for more than two years. The detention of the girl was reported by “ASTRA” and “Protokol.Samara”, the information was confirmed by Idel.Realii’s lawyer Yevgenia Ryzhkova.
According to her, Izmailova was detained on Friday evening, a lawyer was not allowed to see her, she spent the night in the FSB. When Ryzhkova, who had an agreement with Izmailova, arrived for questioning on Saturday morning, she was detained in the presence of secret service employees and said that she did not need the help of a defense attorney – she allegedly wanted the help of a state attorney. Yevgenia Ryzhkova Izmaylova wrote the application for refusal of services under the dictation of the investigator, Ryzhkova clarified.
Izmailova is suspected of illegally manufacturing explosives. The maximum penalty for this article is ten years of imprisonment.
Also, Idel.Realia became aware of the detention of two volunteers of the environmental project “Vtorsyryo for charity” (their names are not yet known), created by Alexander Kudashev in 2018. Kudashev himself believes that the detention of two volunteers and his girlfriend is a way of putting pressure on him. He is also convinced that Iryna Izmailova refused the help of lawyers under pressure from FSB officers.
