On the evening of April 1 in the Bryansk region, a mobilized man took his fellow soldiers hostage. He did this after learning that two of his nephews were killed in the fighting in Ukraine. The “Zarya” plan was introduced in the district: the capture site was cordoned off, movement was blocked. The hijacker surrendered to law enforcement authorities, the hostages were not injured.

According to information published by “Baza” and Astra, the incident occurred in a cultural center in the village of Plavna, Bryansk region. Military unit 44073 was temporarily stationed there. The hostages included five enlisted men and three officers. Presumably, one of the hostages was able to contact the emergency services.

The invader is 35-year-old Dmitry D., mobilized from Chapaevsk, Samara region. He was armed with a machine gun and grenades.

According to preliminary data, Dmitry did not put forward any demands. After the arrival of special services, he surrendered.

  • Mobilization in Russia was announced by President Vladimir Putin on September 21, 2022. The mobilized regularly complain that they are being transferred to assault companies without sufficient training. They also complain about the lack of supplies, brutal treatment from the commanders, and the fact that the command is abandoning them.
