The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has declared Mark Feigin, a former lawyer, opposition-minded public figure and owner of a popular YouTube channel, on the wanted list. This is reported by “Vyorstka” with a reference to the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The wanted card, as usual, does not mention the article of the criminal code under which Feygin is wanted. TASS, with reference to the source, writes that a criminal case has been initiated against him for the article on the spread of so-called fakes about the Russian army. In particular, Feigin is charged with participation in the activities of the opposition organization “Congress of People’s Deputies” created by Ilya Ponomarev, which is considered undesirable in Russia, and “regular coverage” of the activities of the “Freedom of Russia” legion fighting on the side of Ukraine.
“In principle, everything was expected, nothing new,” Feigin wrote in a telegram. He lives outside of Russia.
According to the article about so-called fakes, he faces up to 10 years in prison. It included sentences in absentia, in particular to Alexander Nevzorov and Ilya Krasilshchik, who live abroad.
Mark Feigin was a deputy of the State Duma of the first convocation (1993-1995), then he was a lawyer. In particular, he defended the group Pussy Riot in the case of the so-called punk prayer in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, as well as the captured Ukrainian military pilot Nadezhda Savchenko. In 2018, he was given the status of a lawyer in Russia. Ego was also included in the register of “foreign agents”.
Feigin is the owner of a YouTube channel with more than two million subscribers. After the start of the war in Ukraine, his joint broadcasts with the former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovych, gained particular popularity. Recently, due to a conflict between the presenters, these broadcasts were stopped.
