In the Russian Federation, the terms of declaring military personnel missing can be shortened

[ad_1]

The terms of declaring Russian servicemen missing can be reduced to three months, and those declared dead – to six months. The working group on the “special military operation” created by the President of Russia made a corresponding proposal, which will be brought to Vladimir Putin next week, along with a special report.

The head of the group, secretary of the General Council of the “United Russia” party, Andrey Turchak, said that if the mentioned deadlines are shortened, the families of military personnel will be able to receive the benefits and support measures provided for them more quickly.

Now, according to the current legislation, recognition of a serviceman as dead is possible two years after the end of hostilities. At the same time, the working group on “SVO” issues also proposed to recognize missing persons as dead only by court decision.

  • In March last year, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a one-time payment of 5 million rubles to the families of servicemen who died during the so-called “special military operation”. However, the Ministry of Defense does not publish data on the losses of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine.
