Resolution No. 454 of the Cabinet of Ministers entered into force on May 11, according to which, when selling a car, it is possible to leave the license plate attached to it at the request of the buyer. This was reported by the press service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Now, when concluding a sales contract and when re-registering a vehicle at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is possible to transfer license plates from the previous owner to the new owner free of charge,” the message says.
Exception
The exception is individual license plates and plates with a certain combination of numbers, which can be officially purchased at service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Such signs can be transferred to the new owner only upon payment of their cost to the service center.
At the same time, if such a license plate is transferred to a close relative – a second spouse, parents, children – there is no need to pay for it again.

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that such changes are made in particular so that in the future, when it will be possible to independently buy a car through the “Diya” application or through the “Electronic driver’s office”, there will already be an option to buy a car together with a state registration number plate .
