In Ukraine, the court issued a verdict in the case of the attack on the activist Ekaterina Handzyuk, as a result of which she died.
The Dnipro district court of Kyiv found ex-head of the Kherson regional council Vladyslav Manger and deputy deputy of the regional council Alexey Levin guilty of organizing the crime, and sentenced them to 10 years in prison. They must also pay 15 million hryvnias to the Handziuk family as compensation for moral damage.
According to the investigation, Munger, on the basis of personal enmity, decided to organize an attack on Handziuk and involved Levin in this. Tot, in turn, hired perpetrators of the crime for $5,000. They were convicted earlier and received 3 to 6.5 years of imprisonment.
It is known that Levin hid from the investigation for a long time. In 2020, he was detained in Bulgaria.
