Instagram launches its own channels, as in Telegram – in the turn of Messenger and Facebook

Social network Instagram, owned by Meta, introduced its own “broadcast channels”, where content authors can publish photos, videos or audio messages to their audience.

This is reported in the blog Instagram.

Channels, the company says, are a “one-to-many” public messaging tool. Channel creators can post text, photo, video, and voice messages, create polls, and more.

At the same time, only authors can send messages, while followers can react to content and vote in polls. This format is reminiscent of Telegram channels, which also note specialized mass media.

The company is currently testing broadcast channels with several American bloggers and plans to expand access in the coming months.

“While we’re first rolling out this new feature on Instagram, we’ll also be testing broadcast channels on Messenger and Facebook over the coming months,” the company said.
