Jobs for Ukrainian refugees in Europe: where to find and how much to earn

[ad_1]

Despite the post-holiday period, the low season in production and a slight slowdown in the economy, there are vacancies for citizens of Ukraine in Europe, although their number has significantly decreased compared to the pre-New Year demand for foreign workers. Experts of the EWL Migration Platform collected available vacancies in February for Ukrainians abroad, which do not require special skills and often knowledge of the local language.

Poland

Jobs for Ukrainians in Poland are found in the leading industries where Ukrainian citizens, including refugees, are employed. These are vacancies in the field of logistics, in which they are looking for warehouse workers. Although, after the holidays, they decreased noticeably due to the decline in the number of online orders.

There is also work in the automotive industry, which is experiencing a shortage of workers. More vacancies appear at food industry enterprises that are preparing for the summer season – for example, ice cream production.

Since January 1, the minimum rate in Poland has been raised to 3,490 zlotys gross (29,700 UAH), and another increase is expected in July – to 3,600 zlotys gross (30,700 UAH). The average salary for workers performing simple physical work that does not require knowledge of the Polish language is 4,000-4,400 zlotys (34-37 thousand UAH).

Romania

In Romania, Ukrainians can find work in logistics warehouses and production. Salaries in Romania are lower than in other European countries. Therefore, this country is trying to compete with the best conditions for refugees from Ukraine in order to fill vacancies and at the same time give them work in difficult times.

Some employers invite women from Ukraine to work, offering free housing and coupons for free meals with an average monthly salary of 550 euros (22 thousand UAH). One of the automobile giants offers work exclusively for Ukrainian women who can come to the country with their children.

“And you don’t have to pay for children’s accommodation either. Women self-organize in shifts and while some work, others take care of children. Thus, they can not worry about the safety of children and at the same time earn money on simple physical work of making various wires for cars that do not require any special skills. It comes out to 550 euros per month. We have a woman who came to this job from Ukraine and took her 4 children,” said EWL director Marcyn Kolodziejchyk.

The auto industry revived its work after the pandemic. As the industry research shows, one of the biggest fears of a third of employers in the automotive industry in the context of the war in Ukraine is the return of employed Ukrainians to their families and a smaller number of foreign workers.

Therefore, in this way, the car company in Romania is trying to compete with similar factories in other European countries, where they also employ similar work for citizens of Ukraine.

Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, the work situation at the moment is similar to the Polish one. The energy crisis, the war in Ukraine, and the seasonal decline in production had a certain impact on the labor market.

Among the in-demand professions and current vacancies in the Czech Republic are workers in logistics warehouses for collecting parts of air conditioners, fans and air conditioners for cars or assembling goods.

Most employers offer free housing for their employees. Some enterprises provide their employees with free or discounted meals. This is a job that does not require knowledge of the Czech language and experience. You can earn 25-28 thousand per month. kroner net (42.1-47.2 thousand hryvnias).

The Netherlands

In the Netherlands, citizens of Ukraine are employed at meat production enterprises and logistics warehouses with a salary of 1,800 euros per month gross (72.2 thousand UAH). This is also a job that does not require special skills or knowledge of the language.

“However, employers often require a driver’s license in order to be able to drive to work in a company car provided to employees. “In addition, those who have temporary security status issued by the Netherlands, as well as BSN – the Dutch analogue of the identification code, can get a job,” Kolodziejchyk said.

Citizens of Ukraine with work experience in the gastronomic field and knowledge of the English language at a communicative level can get a job as cooks or waiters and receive a salary of 1900-2000 euros net (76.2-80.2 thousand UAH).
