Journalists found “Putin’s godfather” a new yacht after his exchange to Russia

“Verstka” newspaper writes on Friday that during the preparation of the investigation about the Russian yacht fleet, journalists found a new yacht belonging to the former Ukrainian deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, who lives in Russia after the exchange of prisoners between Kyiv and Moscow.
“Verstka” writes that the family of Medvedchuk, whom the media call “Putin’s godfather”, after his exchange with the military forces of Ukraine, received a yacht worth more than 9.5 million dollars. We are talking about the Pershing 9X high-speed yacht manufactured by the Italian Ferretti Group. On board the 28-meter vessel there are four cabins with 8 berths. In total, the yacht can accommodate up to 20 guests, the publication notes.
With reference to customs data, the editors write that the vessel named Amore Mio is apparently quite new. The ego was let down this year. It passed the Russian customs on July 26. The yacht approached Russian waters under the flag of Palau, while its sender is the Lavel Fzco company from the UAE.
The recipient of the yacht in Russia is the company “Renaissance”. According to the auditor’s report dated February 24, 2021, the beneficial owner of this company was Medvedchuk’s wife, Oksana Marchenko.
Viktor Medvedchuk is one of the leaders of the “Opposition Platform – For Life” party, which was banned after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He is considered a pro-Russian politician who maintains close ties with President Vladimir Putin. Since May 2021, Medvedchuk has been in Ukraine under house arrest in a criminal case of treason. Three days after the start of the full-scale war, it became known about his escape. In April 2022, he was detained and subsequently arrested by the court. In September, the Ukrainian side exchanged Medvedchuk and 55 Russians for 215 captured Ukrainian servicemen, including Azov commanders and Azovstal defenders.
