Kobolev’s case: NABU says it has found new data, including 37 GB of correspondence

On Thursday, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau submitted a new motion to the court to extend the term of the pre-trial investigation, because new data was found, including 37 GB of electronic correspondence.

The request by NABU detectives is due to new circumstances established by the pre-trial investigation.
After filing a preliminary motion with the investigating judge in early April, detectives seized new documents and information. According to NABU, these data are essential for evidence in criminal proceedings.
Thus, electronic correspondence of persons involved in the initiation and implementation of the decision to pay bonuses to the management and employees of Naftogaz for the victory in the Stockholm arbitration was seized.
In total, correspondence over 37 GB was removed. Currently, NABU says that detectives are reviewing the information, and due to its size, it may take a significant period of time.
“During the inspection, a number of information, which are of essential importance for proof in criminal proceedings, have already been revealed,” the Bureau added.
Previously, the investigative judge of the VAX already refused in the petition regarding the extension of the term of the pre-trial investigation in the case of the ex-chairman of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev.
