The income of the national operator from the sale of goods and services decreased by 7.7% compared to the actual data for 2021.

The volumes of domestic and export parcels in 2022 remained at the level of the year. Revenues from trade increased by 41.9% compared to 2021.

“For objective reasons, the volume of written correspondence in 2022 decreased by 53.4% compared to last year with a gradual recovery until the end of 2022. Consequently, revenues in this direction decreased by 18.3% compared to 2021,” Ukrposhte noted.

At the same time, due to the closure of a large number of printed publications and the migration of the population, revenues from the distribution of periodicals decreased by 22.4%.

Damage

According to the results of 2022, the company has not yet managed to compensate for losses and return to a positive EBITDA indicator: Ukrposhta ended last year with an actual loss of UAH 1,258.1 million, of which:

  • UAH 216.9 million — losses received due to lost assets in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions;
  • UAH 402.1 million — due to losses from exchange rate differences as a result of fluctuating exchange rates.

The company added that thanks to the profits of previous years and measures to preserve cash, Ukrposhta maintained a strong liquidity position throughout 2022, which made it possible to maintain operational activities without a cash deficit, fulfill its financial obligations in a timely manner, and restart the capital investment program.

In particular, the company continued automation and purchased and installed 780 POS terminals in branches. Due to the increase in their total number to more than 8,500 units, revenues from the provision of services for acquiring operations increased by 194.3% compared to 2021.

Ukrposhta continued to invest in the computerization of rural branches, the opening of 120 new and repair of 326 branches of postal communication, and the launch of 780 new mobile branches.

In 2022, Ukrposhta paid UAH 2.9 billion in taxes, fees and mandatory payments.
