Leaving Russia, Cisco destroyed two billion rubles worth of equipment

[ad_1]

The American company Cisco, which produces software and network equipment, leaving Russia in January 2023, destroyed its inventory in the country in the amount of 1.86 billion rubles. This follows from the report of the Russian legal entity of the company, with which the TASS agency got acquainted.

Cisco also destroyed vehicles, office furniture and equipment worth a million rubles. The decision to destroy stocks was made in August 2022. This was done due to the termination of sales and the suspension of licenses in Russia. It is reported that the company was looking for a way to remove the equipment, but was unable to do so.

Earlier, the American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly decided to completely withdraw from the Russian market, transferring business in Russia to its partner in Central and Eastern Europe, Swixx Biopharma. This is already the second large pharmaceutical company from the USA that left the Russian market against the background of Russia’s war against Ukraine and transferred the business to the management of Swixx Biopharma. In May last year, the American Bristol-Myers Squibb did exactly the same thing.

  • According to Yale University, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, more than 1,000 foreign companies have already announced that they will leave Russia or limit their activities in the country. Among them are the OBI international chain of construction and household goods stores, cosmetics and perfumery manufacturer Estee Lauder Companies, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, fashion brands Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Marks & Spencer, Mango, H&M and others.
