Elizaveta Likhacheva, who headed the Shchusev Museum of Architecture, will become the director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia.
The day before, it became known that the director of the Pushkin Museum, Maryna Loshak, has written an application for resignation of her own volition after almost 10 years of work in this position. Loshak confirmed this information to the “Dozhd” TV channel. Her contract with the museum expires on April 2.
Kommersant newspaper columnist Evgenia Mylova reported that Loshak’s resignation letter was signed, “although they did not plan to part with her.” “Few people have the strength to take such a step,” Mylova wrote.
For the first time, information about the departure of Marina Loshak from the Pushkin Museum appeared in Telegram channels in mid-February. However, the museum said that Marina Loshak continues to work and will remain in her post at least until the end of the contract.
The news of Loshak’s imminent dismissal appeared shortly after it became known that the Ministry of Culture did not renew the contract with the director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Zelfira Tregulova. She was replaced in this position by the daughter of FSB General Elena Pronycheva, who has been the head of the Polytechnic Museum since 2020.
