Lufthansa sues climate activists, who caused the cancellation of dozens of flights

The Lufthansa airline company demands compensation from the activists of the “Last Generation” initiative, due to whose action dozens of flights had to be canceled.

This is reported by Spiegel, writes “European Truth”.

The spokeswoman of the company said that they plan to demand compensation for the canceled flights of all Lufthansa member airlines whose flights did not take place due to actions on July 13 at Dusseldorf and Hamburg airports, as well as on November 24 at Berlin airport.

The amount is not mentioned, but it will obviously be about millions of euros. As far as is known, only the Eurowings carrier had 55 flights canceled during those days.

Airlines Condor and TUIfly also do not rule out lawsuits, but have not yet made a decision.

In contrast to actions with blocking of roads, it will be easier to calculate and prove the losses of airlines and airports.

It will be recalled that on July 13, activists entered the territory of the airports in Hamburg and Dusseldorf and glued themselves to the asphalt at the exits to the runway.

The “Last Generation” group, with its numerous actions, demands more decisive measures from the German government to combat climate change.
