The British Foreign Ministry and the family of one of the missing British volunteers, 28-year-old Christopher Parra, confirmed that he and 48-year-old Andrew Bagshaw died in eastern Ukraine. This is reported by the Russian Service of the BBC. The volunteers were last seen alive near Soledar on January 6.
“It is with great sadness that we say that our beloved Chris was killed along with his colleague Andrew Bagshaw during the request for a humanitarian evacuation from Soledar,” said the joint statement of Perra’s parents and his girlfriend.
According to them, Perry managed to save the lives of more than 400 people, as well as help many abandoned animals. He also led a crowdfunding campaign to collect funds for the repair of cars, the supply of fuel and equipment necessary for the evacuation of people.
Andrew Bagshaw lived in New Zealand for the last few years, but at the very beginning of the war he came to the zone of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine. Bagshaw’s relatives said that he delivered food, medicine and helped elderly people evacuate from the war zone.
At the beginning of January, the press service of the head of PMC Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin and Telegram channels connected with PMC reported that the body of a previously missing British volunteer was found in the city of Soledar, Donetsk region. Documents of his colleague, whose fate was not reported, were also found with him.
