Cloud operator GigaCloud conducted a social experiment to check whether Ukrainians remember what the first carriers of information looked like and how digitized they are.

People of different ages and professions were chosen for the survey. People were shown a magnetic tape, a floppy disk, a punched card, a disk receiver and a hard disk. For some, these objects were nothing more than a piece of paper and some incomprehensible “irons”.

However, the responses from the rest of the people impressed the GigaCloud staff. See what happened in the video.

In recent years, the level and pace of digitization of Ukraine has been impressive. It only takes a few minutes to open a new bank account or to open an FOP.

You don’t need to talk to the waiter to order food, and you can pay for a taxi by card. Ukraine became the first country in the world where a digital passport has the same validity as a paper or plastic counterpart.

And the Ministry of Digital Transformation predicts that 2023 will be a new era in the development of the “Action” application. Many new documents will appear in it, and it will become available for legal entities.

All these technological advances are hard to imagine without cloud technologies. After all, they contribute to the development of creative potential and stimulate innovative activity in Ukraine. And at the same time, we see the result of the evolution of information carriers.
