Patrushev does not want to help the USA preserve its integrity

The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, said that the European Union is close to collapse, and the United States – to disintegration, and, in his opinion, for Russia “it is not appropriate to help the States preserve their integrity.”
Patrushev, whose rhetoric has intensified after Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, in an interview with “Rossiyskoy Gazeta” sharply commented on the “Summit for Democracy”, which will be held from March 28 to 30 at the initiative of US President Joe Biden. According to Patrushev, in reality there is no democracy in the USA.
The secretary of the Russian Security Council also touched on the topic of Ukraine, accusing NATO countries of direct participation in the conflict with Russia. “They made one big military camp out of Ukraine,” said a representative of Vladimir Putin’s closest entourage. According to Patrushev, Russia “surpasses America in spiritual, moral and military terms”, and also possesses a “unique weapon”, “capable of destroying any enemy, including the USA, in the event of a threat to its existence”. He did not say what kind of weapon it was.
Patrushev also touched on the topic of the Holodomor in Ukraine, stating that “in the 1920s and 1930s, the situation with access to food was worse in the RSFSR than in Ukraine.”
- Millions of people became victims of mass hunger in the USSR in 1932-33. Although both the RSFSR and Kazakhstan, which was part of it at the time, suffered from the famine, the largest number of victims, including according to the Soviet authorities, was precisely on the territory of Ukraine. Many countries officially recognized the Holodomor as genocide, noting that it was the result of the policy of the USSR authorities.
At the end of the interview, Patrushev predicted the collapse of the United States. “There is no doubt that sooner or later the southern neighbors of the United States will return the territories stolen from them,” he said, apparently referring to Mexico. He called the Black Lives Matter movement aimed at “spiritual degradation” and suggested that “ordinary citizens will not lift a finger to preserve the integrity of America.”
- Patrushev’s rhetoric actually did not differ from the Soviet rhetoric of the initial period of the Cold War – the late 1940s and early 1950s.
- The day before, President Vladimir Putin also resorted to this rhetoric, calling the USA and Western countries the instigators of the war.
