Political scientist and publicist Fyodor Krasheninnikov, critical of the Russian authorities, was not allowed to enter Georgia. About this reported Krasheninnikov himself wrote on social networks X about the canceled event in Tbilisi, in which his participation was supposed to be.

“I could not enter Georgia: according to the results of passport control, I was denied entry, after which I was put on the same plane and returned to the EU on it. I do not know the reasons for this decision,” writes Krasheninnikov.

The political scientist opposes the war and criticizes Vladimir Putin, cooperates with independent mass media. Recently, together with Vladimir Milov, he published a report on the necessary reforms from the authors’ point of view for Russia’s transition to democracy. The Ministry of Justice of Russia included Krasheninnikov, who lives abroad, in the register of “foreign agents”.

Recently, there have been regular reports that opposition-minded Russian citizens, including media celebrities, are not allowed to enter Georgia. Sometimes the reason is that they previously visited self-proclaimed Abkhazia, but most often the reasons are not mentioned. In the last two years, for example, Alexander Arkhangelskyi, Viktor Shenderovych, Philipp Dzyadko, Mita Aleshkovskii were refused entry.
