Power outages are possible in some areas of the capital: the reason

Despite the absence of a power shortage in the power system, local blackouts may be applied in some districts of Kyiv due to damage to electricity transmission networks.
About this told Serhii Kovalenko, CEO of Yasno electricity supplier.
He reminded that the operator of the transmission system, Ukrenergo, has not formed limits for the regions for several days, which means no planned blackouts.
As previously reported, the absence of a deficit in the power system is explained by the inclusion of additional power units at several thermal power plants (TPPs) after repairs, which made it possible to fully cover consumption.
“Of course, this does not mean that the system has been restored enough to work without interruption. Therefore, in some districts of Kyiv, in particular, in parts of Holosiyivskyi, Svyatoshynskyi and Shevchenkivskyi, there is a shortage of network capacity,” Kovalenko added.
Thus, the networks of Ukrenergo, damaged by shelling, are currently unable to transmit sufficient amounts of electricity to provide light to all residents of the capital. Therefore, in these areas of the city, “local shutdowns according to schedules” can be applied.
